COVID-19 INFORMATION

RTO TOID 21132 | CRICOS Provider Code 03797M

Stirling Institute of Australia (SIA) is committed to providing a safe environment for our staff, students, contractors and wider community. The information below reflects our current organisation protocols for business operations, as guided by the Victorian Government.

Vaccination requirements for students and staff for onsite training

Students are not required to be vaccinated in order to attend onsite at any of our training venues.

Face masks

Face masks are not required for staff and students attending on-site work and study.

Any students or staff members who wish to wear a mask may do so, including those who are medically at-risk.

Face masks must be worn if it is a requirement of a workplace students or other visitors are attending for hands-on, practical learning. This could include a hospital or care facility, for example.

Placements

Students attending a placement will need to comply with the vaccination requirements of their host, which may include the wearing of a mask and/or showing evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Victorian State Government has indicated six industry areas requiring mandatory three dose vaccination, which are:

  1. Residential Aged Care Facility workers

  2. Healthcare workers

  3. Disability workers

  4. Custodial workers

  5. Emergency services workers, and

  6. Education workers at Specialist Schools

In addition, individual employers may impose their own vaccination requirements. Therefore, if you are not vaccinated, you may not be able to complete your course if you are unable to undertake placement.

Vaccination is still considered the best way to protect yourself, family, friends and teachers from major illness associated with the virus. Getting vaccinated will help slow the spread of COVID-19 and prevent extensive outbreaks across our community.
