CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is for those who are interested in working in the early childhood services sector, or who are already working in the field and would like to advance their career by becoming responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services.

Estimated duration of 48 tuition weeks allowing sufficient time to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in each unit.
Further Study Pathways
After achieving CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood, students may continue their studies by enrolling in either of the following courses: Bachelor or Early Childhood Education (Early Years) OR Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching (Birth to Five Years).
Entry Requirements
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:
• Hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or
• CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, prospective students need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at Diploma level, this can be demonstrated via the following:
Pre-training review to ensure student has the appropriate level of Language Literacy and Numeracy to achieve the competencies. Where a test result is supplied, it must be within the last 12 months
Basic computer skills
You will need to be at least 18 years old.
Additional Requirements
A satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) and where a student has resided in another country from the age of 16, as a permanent resident or citizen, they will be required to provide a Statutory Declaration
A satisfactory Working with Children’s Check
Immunisation including fully vaccinated against COVID by a TGA approved vaccine

Assessment
Training with SIA is practical and engaging and will involve projects, simulations, research, case studies and direct observations of practical skills. To successfully pass the course, students will need to be deemed satisfactory in all required assessments. During placement hours, students will be supervised by professional staff and placement assessments will be facilitated by Stirling trainers and assessors.

+ Delivery
This course is delivered face to face in a classroom environment with a combination of interactive workshops in the classroom with opportunities to participate in practical application of skills and knowledge through, practical industry based simulated training activities and workplace participation.
Estimated duration of 48 tuition weeks allowing sufficient time to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in each unit.
280 hours work placement in a suitable workplace. Work placement will only be organised using Approved registered education and care service providers.
