Entry Requirements

To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, prospective students need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at Diploma level, this can be demonstrated via the following:

  • Minimum of IELTS 5.5 with no individual component score less than 5.0 or equivalent

  • Pre-training review to ensure student has the appropriate level of Language Literacy and Numeracy to achieve the competencies. Where a test result is supplied, it must be within the last 12 months

  • Basic computer skills

  • You will need to be at least 18 years old.

Additional Requirements

  • A satisfactory National Police Check (NPC) and where a student has resided in another country from the age of 16, as a permanent resident or citizen, they will be required to provide a Statutory Declaration

  • A satisfactory Working with Childrens Check

  • Immunisation records may be requested in order to start vocational placement.

Assessment

Training with SIA is practical and engaging and will involve projects, simulations, research, case studies and direct observations of practical skills. To successfully pass the course, students will need to be deemed satisfactory in all required assessments. During placement hours, students will be supervised by professional staff and placement assessments will be facilitated by Stirling trainers and assessors.

This course is delivered face to face in a classroom environment with a combination of interactive workshops and opportunities to participate in practical application of skills and knowledge through, practical industry based simulated training activities and workplace participation.
