Installing Zoom on a desktop or device

To set up Zoom for the first time on a computer:

Step 1: Download and install Zoom

To install Zoom on a personal device, such as tablet or phone:

  1. Download and install the ‘Zoom Cloud Meetings’ app for Apple or Android.

To install Zoom on a personal computer:

  1. Visit the Zoom download centre

  2. Choose ‘Download’ under ‘Zoom Client for Meetings’ to download the Zoom installer. Save the file and run the installer.

  3. Zoom should open automatically once the installation is complete. If not, you can start it from the ‘All Programs’ menu on a PC, or the ‘Applications’ folder on a Mac.


Join the Virtual Class

Step 2: Join meeting

  1. SIA will send you a text message the day before your scheduled class.

    1. The text message will include the Meeting ID and Password

  2. Open the Zoom app on your Computer or Device

  3. Select Join a Meeting

  4. Enter the Meeting ID or select a recently used ID from the dropdown list

  5. Enter your name in the Screen Name field

  6. Press Join Meeting

  7. Enter the meeting password and press Continue

  8. Register your attendance

    1. Enter your full name in the Screen Name field

    2. Enter your email address in the Email Address field

  9. Select your preferred audio option

    1. Call using Internet Audio will use wifi or data

    2. Dial in will use phone credit

  10. Turn your cameral on by pressing the Start Video button on the bottom of the screen.
