This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals.
Course Highlights

Entry Requirements
To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, candidates need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at Certificate IV level, this can be demonstrated via the following:
Minimum of IELTS 6.0 with no individual component score less than 5.5 or equivalent
Over 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
Pre-training review to assess individual needs and demonstrate adequate ACSF levels for this qualification
Basic computer skills.

Mature age (at least 18 years of age)
To gain this qualification, successful completion of a practical placement is required
To participate in the placement, students are required to produce a satisfactory Victoria Police Records Check and Working with Children Check.

All students will be required to complete a minimum of 100 hours work placement in an approved workplace in the community services sector.

+ Delivery
This course is delivered face to face in a classroom environment with a combination of interactive workshops and opportunities to participate in practical application of skills and knowledge through, practical industry based simulated training activities and workplace participation.
Mode of study
On Campus – Southbank
- 20 hours per week (2 full days and 1 half day)
Duration
Duration is 52 weeks (including holidays) allowing sufficient time to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in each unit. 200 hours work placement in a suitable workplace e.g. community service organisation.
